Anton is a very smart little Ant.
He saves up for things he likes to buy,
and he doesn't buy anything until he
had given it much thought and unless
he's sure he really needs it.
When Anton does spend his money
on things like toys, he buys them only
if they are really special and
have lasting value.
Anton knows his good money habits
will pay off someday. After all, he knows
that a peso saved is a peso earned. |

| Anton the Ant's Peso-Smart Tips |
| |
1. Start saving money now. You are never too young to start thinking of saving.
2. Set a goal. Decide how much money you are willing to put aside every week from your allowance. Save also the money you receive as a gift or earn from doing chores around the house.
3. Try to put a little money away every day. You will be surprised to see how much you will save in a year if you are consistent.
4. Ask your parents to help you open a savings account.
5. Know the difference between "wants" and "needs". It's okay to spend for items you need, but you will need to think twice before spending for items you merely want.
6. Be a wise shopper. Get items that give you the best value for the least amount of money.
7. Keep a list of your daily spending. This will help you see whether you are spending your money wisely. Your list will also help you see which expenses you can avoid.
8. Don't carry around in your wallet more money than you need. You will be tempted to buy things on impulse.
9. Don't spend more money than you have. Don't borrow money to buy something you want.
10. Carefully plan your spending, and plan your purchases. |
